Willo
Willo is a digital well-being platform that helps 45,000+ UC San Diego students discover campus resources, services, and support across mental health, academics, career development, community, and basic needs.
Challenge
Students struggled to navigate a fragmented ecosystem of 40+ campus and clinical support systems, making it difficult to discover relevant resources and take action.
Approach
Led UX strategy, content design, information architecture, and engagement strategy for Version 3, redesigning crisis and clinical support experiences to improve discoverability, streamline navigation, and help students access care more efficiently. Developed the platform's content model, taxonomy, governance framework, and personalized resource pathways while partnering with clinicians, campus leaders, and student support teams.
Impact
• Consolidated fragmented resources into a single discovery experience
• Created scalable content and governance systems
• Improved resource discoverability and engagement
• Established sustainable processes for long-term platform growth
Key Takeaway
Designing for well-being required combining UX, behavioral science, content strategy, and service design to help students navigate complex systems with confidence.
